Its battery materials operations in the Eindhoven-Brainport region are central to Europe's push to localize EV battery supply chains and reduce dependence on Asian cell chemistry. Without BASF's upstream materials capability, Europe's ambitions in electrification and energy storage would remain structurally dependent on non-European suppliers.
